Applicants are invited to apply for a Diploma in Nursing (Psychiatric, Community and Midwifery) in 2017 at one of the following Gauteng Nursing Collages: Ann Latsky Nursing College, Chris Hani Baragwanath Nursing College, SG Lourens Nursing College.
It is the intention of the department to promote representativeness in the public service by appointing nurses for the 4-year nursing diploma, which leads to registration as a nurse (general, community, psychiatry) and midwife (Gov R425).
After completing the four-year basic nursing course, there is an opportunity for qualified nurses to continue their education in various specialized areas of nursing, e.g. nursing education, nursing management, intensive care nursing, trauma and emergency nursing, operating room nursing, primary health care, orthopedic nursing, child nursing etc.
Gauteng Department of Health will provide annual financial support to successful students in the form of a scholarship until the completion of the program.
